How do I zoom on the map or move the map?
The right button allows you to draw a rectangle to zoom in to the map. You don't need to recenter the map, then zoom in, then recenter again, then zoom in again, and so on, but rather just zoom in to any point on the map highlighted by the rectangle.
A single click with the left button will recenter the map.
The left button allows you to move the map in any direction you like.
The scrolling wheel of your mouse lets you zoom in and out.
What do the buttons on top of the map stand for?

The Back arrow / forward arrow allow you to return to the previous map view or step forward to the next map view.

House: Navigates you to the map's origin.

Rocket: To help you with your orientation clicking this button once will zoom the map out for a second and then zoom in again. If you hold the button in, you can decide how far it will zoom out. Using your right mouse button will do this at accelerated speed.

Hand: Activate this button in order to move the map by clicking with your left mouse button and dragging it.

Ruler: With this tool, you can measure distances on the map. To measure the distance from one point to the next, click on the beginning point and make a single click for every stopover. Double click on the destination to stop measuring distance.

If you would like to print the current map section click on the printer symbol. Then adjust your print settings on the left side of the map and click on “Next” to open the print window.

If you would like your map to appear in a new (and bigger) window, click on the two window button.

NAVTEQMap24 provides you the possibility to choose which POIs and map content should be displayed. You can select this by clicking on the first button righthand above the map.

Which functionalities provides the navigation tool?
Top left on the map you find our navigation tool.
It allows you to navigate the map easily. For example you can switch between 2D and 3D view, zoom into the map or move the map in any direction you like by one mouse click.
I don't see all the buttons described above.

Our interactive map (the Java map) allows you to use all these functions. If you have Java deactivated in your browser, you will be shown a static map with slightly less functionality.
The easiest thing to do in order to make NAVTEQ Map24 work properly in Internet Explorer is to set the security level to standard. To do so, please click on “Tools” in the menu, then choose “Internet Options” then go to „Security” and then click „Default Level”.
In Firefox please choose „Tools” --> „Options” --> „Content” and then activate the checkbox both for JavaScript and Java.
How can I find out if I am using the interactive map?

You can identify the interactive map by the panels “Zoom”, “3D-View” and “Route Flight” located at the bottom of the map.
Additionally, you can also identify the interactive map by its functionality, for example zooming works seamless. Furthermore, the interactive map offers you a lot of operations that cannot be performed by static maps. Examples are the distance meter, the feature to highlight map objects or the possibility to zoom out for a quick orientation.

There seem to be some details missing on the map.
Our interactive map needs a little moment to load all details. Tip: Look at the symbol in the upper right corner of the map: If the blue square is still moving not all details of the map have been loaded yet.

Sometimes the print cut-out different from the map on the screen. Why?
This may happen if your screen resolution is “too large”, i.e. the map in your browser is bigger than the size we can put on a sheet of paper. At a resolution of approximately 1024x768 pixel browser and print map are the same. If you are using a larger resolution we have to shrink the map and leave out some details for printout.
